A vehicle pursuit that started in El Centro ended an hour later in Glamis.

An El Centro police officer attempted to stop a pickup truck at 6th and Broadway at about 11:45 a.m. Friday. The driver refused to stop and proceeded to lead officers on an hour long chase that reached speeds of 100 miles per hour. The pickup left El Centro, went towards Holtville and continued to run on county roads, dirt roads and ditch banks in an attempt to elude law enforcement. The pickup driver continued on towards the desert and eventually pursuit officers lost sight of the truck in the desert near Glamis where the pursuit ended. Officers have identified the driver as a 55-year-old man who has an outstanding warrant. El Centro Police expect to file charges against the suspect.
