A shipment of kale was loaded with methamphetamine.
U.S Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa Cargo Facility seized $38 million worth of meth in a shipment manifested as kale. Shortly after noon last Saturday, a tractor-trailer entered the cargo facility. The driver was referred to secondary inspection where irregularities were observed in the cargo. A further inspection discovered 268 packages of methamphetamine in the kale. The total weight of the narcotics was nearly 5,800 pounds with a street value of over $38 million.
