(Higher Education Week is underway)...The annual event is coordinated by the Imperial County Office Of Education College and Career Readiness Initiative.

It began Monday and will continue through Friday. During the week, a wide variety of over 25 colleges and unbiversities are visiting each local high school to make presentations and meet with 11th grade students as they plan their future after high school graduation, which is 12 short months away. ICOE hosts two Higher Education Weeks. One in the spring for high school juniors and another in September for those same students who will then be 12th grade seniors. A highlight of the week is the Parent Night, which is hosted at the IV Mall. All the university representatives will be hosting tables and answering questions from students, parents and family members. Parent Night will be held Thursday, May 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
