(Unemployment down, just slightly)....The latest jobless numbers are for March.

They were released Friday morning by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the release, March unemployment was reported at 15.6% for Imperial County. That is down just slightly from the 15.7% reported in February, and above the uear ago estimate of 12.3%. This compares to the unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.8% for the state and 3.6% for the nation during the same period. According to the report, 11,100 eligible workers were unemployed out of a labor force of 71,400. For March Imperial County  had the  second highest unemployment rate in the state. Colusa County was ranked 58th with an unemployment rate of 19.2% in March.
