(IID Schedules Public Workshops)....They are to discuss Colorado River Issues.

The River is the main water source for the Imperial County. The River has been in drought conditions for a few years now. The main issue on the Colorado River possible water shortages to the 7 basin states that use Colorado River water. The Imperial Irrigation District will be holding three workshops this month to education the public on the river issues. There will be a tutorial on the Law Of The River, a summary of current reservoir operating conditions and Hydrologic Forecasts, and a review of Reclamation's supplemental Environmental Impact Statement process for near-term Colorado River Operations, as well as discussion on upcoming issues and challenges. Each workshop will last about 90 minutes. The first will be held April 25 at the Stockman's Club in Brawley beginning at 3 pm. The second workshop will be held April 26th at 10 am in the Holtville City Hall. The final workshop will be held at Fram Credit Services in Imperial on April 27th. It will begin at 5 pm.
