Brawley Police have made an arrest in a February shooting.

On February 19, 2023, at about 2:00 a.m., two teenagers were shot near the intersection of Cattle Call Drive and El Cerrito Drive in Brawley. One of the teens was shot in the abdomen and the other teen was shot in the leg. Both victims were initially treated at Pioneers Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Rady's Children's Hospital in San Diego. Both teens are expected to fully recover.

On the evening of March 5, 2023, Brawley Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle wanted in connection with the shooting. The driver of the car, identified as Eddie Verdusco Garibldi, 36, was arrested and then booked into Imperial County Jail on two counts of Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Garibaldi is being held on $1 million bail.
