Why was the rooster in the road?

No one seems to know, and the rooster is not talking. At 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, El Centro Police responded to the area of 11th and Main Streets after receiving a report of a rooster in the middle of the street causing traffic problems. When police arrived, the rooster was gone. No word on why, or even whether, he crossed the road.
