Imperial Irrigation repair crews are still working to restore power to the Salton Sea area.

The 70 mile per hours that ripped through the Imperial Valley Tuesday and Wednesday toppled more than 70 power poles, mostly in the Imperial Valley's Northend. Approximately 2,500 IID customers lost power, and as of Thursday at about Noon, about half of those affected have had power restored. About 1,150 customers remained without power in the Salton City, Salton Sea Beach and Desert Shores communities. According to the IID, complete restoration may take 5-10 days. The American Red Cross and Imperial County Department of Social Services are working to assist those individuals that are impacted by the event.
