(Weather varies in the region)...If you are going to San Diego, be aware.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the San Diego Mountain areas. It will remain in effect through at least the rest of the week. They are currently experiencing snow, rain and patchy fog. Snow in the higher elevations is consistent, and it is sticking to the ground. It is expected there will be 4 feet of snow in the Mt. Laguna area by Saturday. Currently there is only one lane open on Interstate 8 through the snowy areas. The California Highway Patrol says two lanes would be too hazardous. The CHP says as it is vehicles are getting stuck in the snow and backing up traffic. If it gets worse they could close the Interstate to all vehicles. For Imperial County rain is possible. The Weather service says it will continue to be windy, but not at the extreme levels that were experienced Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain below normal.
