(County Fire responds to a brush fire)....It was reported at around 9:20 Tuesday night.

The fire was near Rio Bend RV Park. Strong gusty winds made the fire extremely hazardous. Fire Department from Holtville, El Centro, Brawley, Calipatria and Centenela all came to assist County Fire with the brush fire. Fire officials ordered an evacuation of Rio Bend and Storms Crossing. The residents were sent to an evacuation center  at Southwest High School. By 2:30 Wednesday morning the evacuation order was lifted, and the residents were able to return to their homes. County Fire Chief Estrada said the fire is under control, but because of the gusty winds, County crews remain on scene to control any flare ups or other problems created by the wind. The Chief said the cause of the fire is under investigations, He said because of the circumstances, arson is being looked at as a possible cause.
