The California Highway Patrol said there were two big rig collisions attributed to the wind on the Mountain grade. Another semi collision was reported near Crestwood. The National Weather Service said a High Wind Warning would remain in effect until 10 Thursday night. Winds were predicted at 30 to 40 miles per hour out of the northwest, with gusts up to 60 to 75 miles per hour. The weather service said the winds were capable of making travel very difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. They issued a warning saying the winds were also capable of blowing down trees and power lines, with widespread power outages in the mountains possible.
