A Yuma house burned Wednesday night.

The fire was reported shortly before 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of East 24th Place. On arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from an outside storage room and carport area of the house. Yuma Fire personnel quickly knocked down the blaze before it could spread throughout the house. There were four adults and two children home at the time of the fire as well as several pets and all were able to evacuate safely. The home sustained smoke and heat damage and the American Red Cross assisted the occupants. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
