Several law enforcement agencies combined to capture a car thief.

At about 2:40 a.m. Monday a pursuit started in the area of Dogwood and Danenberg Roads when a 2017 Ford Explorer that had been reported stolen was observed. Imperial County Sheriff's deputies and El Centro police officers pursued the SUV into the city of El Centro and through several residential neighborhoods and then went southbound on 4th Street, on past Heber and continued on to Calexico. The vehicle was stopped on Heber Avenue in Calexico shortly after 3:00 a.m. and one suspect was taken into custody. Speeds reached about 50 mph during the chase. California Highway Patrol and Calexico Police were also involved in the pursuit and arrest.
