A car went out of control and ended up in a canal.

The accident happened at about 4:40 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Dogwood and Ross in El Centro. Reports indicate the car struck a utility pole and ended up in a nearby canal.The driver, the only occupant of the car, was assisted from the wreck by witnesses. He received minor injuries and was taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center. The 53-year-old driver was cited for driving without a license.
