(El Centro Dog Park Groundbreaking)...The ceremony will be held next week.
The City o El Centro and the Donors Phil and Elise Heald are inviting everyone to attend. The Ceremony will be held Thursday December 29th at 10 am. It will be held in the 600 Block of Park Avenue, adjacent to the Brett Driscoll Sidewinder Skate Park. The new dog park will have an areas for small dogs and large dogs, dog amenities such as a fire hydrant water fountain and an obstacle course. The project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2023. The total project cost is $900,000. Phil and Elise Heald donated $500,000 to construct the dog park, and the remaining funds are from the City's Measure P Fund. Additional donors are welcome to help with the City Wish list. That includes items such as extra shade and dog exercise areas to make it a cutting-edge project. Donations to the dog park are tax deductible. Contact Community Services Director Adriana Nava.
