It's the season for holiday celebrations.

The season started with Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales and continues through December. The City of Calexico Recreation Department is sponsoring a Christmas Home Decorating Contest. It's for houses and cards in Calexico. To participate homeowners must register by December 1st and have their decorations in operation by Monday, December 5th.

On December 1 it's "A Festival of Christmas" featuring the Imperial Valley Master Chorale, Imperial Valley String Ensemble, High School Honors Choir, Special Guest Soloist Soprano Esther Renee Rayo. There will also be a Christmas Carol Sing-a-Long. The festival of Christmas is at Christ Community Church in El Centro. Tickets are $15.00 with children through grade 12 free.

On December 2 the City of El Centro Christmas Tree Lighting and Street Fair. There will be entertainment, music, free photos with Santa. It runs from 5P - 9P.

Also on Friday night is the Naval Air Facility El Centro Christmas Parade. 

The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce / Los Vigilantes Christmas Parade, Let it Snow with Frosty the Snowman, is set for Saturday, December 3. It's the 76th annual parade through El Centro.

Saturday, December 3rd is also the Imperial County Historical Society and Pioneers' Museum Holiday Tour. The first one since the pandemic. Admission is $10 and it will be held at the Pioneers Museum on Aten Road from 6P - 8P.
