(CBP issues a pet reminder).....It was issued after a travelor tried to cross a pet pig into the US.

It happened in San Diego when a border crosser tried to cross a miniture pig in their vehicle. Customs and Border Protection says it is not that miniture pigs are not allowed to be be brought across the border, but there are regulations that need to be met. For live pigs, they need a Veterinary Service permit. Pigs are also regulated as livestock. African Rodents, bats, nonhuman primates and civets are not allowed to be imported into the United States under any circumstances.
