The Imperial County Board of Supervisors joined with the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors and declared the Existence of a Local Emergency in the County. The declaration is a result of the February 21, 2023 wind storm that caused significant damage and put residents in peril because of the loss of power.The total extent of the damage is still being assessed. The District and County's declarations open the door for state and federal emergency aid.
