According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Wednesday should be the last day of Excessive Heat Warnings for the Imperial Valley.

But starting Friday there is a chance for heavy rain and possible flooding. The NWS says that Hurricane Kay, off the west coast of Baja California, may bring excessive rainfall to the Valley starting Friday morning. There is about a 5 per cent chance the thunderstorms may bring as much as 3 inches of rainfall in 24 hours with about a 40 per cent chance of excessive rain that may bring flash flooding.
