(Fire forces evacuations)....The fire was reported near Barrett Lake and Highway 94 Wednesday afternoon.

Cal Fire is calling the fire the Border 32 fire. The blaze moved quickly, forcing the closure of Highway 94 and other Roads near the area. Evacuations were implemented for several homes in the area. The Red Cross set up a shelter at Mountain Empire High School and another one at the Jamul Casino. The tecate Port was closed at close to 6:00 pm Wedndesday, and at last report it is still closed. Thursday morning Cal Fire said the fire had burned 4,246 acres, and was only 5% contained. They said over 300 plus firefighters on scene. At last report. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
