The latest addition to the new Library is a contract for a Library Director. The City went through four failed attempts to hire a local Library Director. To ensure the new facility has a Director, the city has signed a one year contract with Library Systems And Services out of Rockville, Maryland.. It is a one year contract worth $175,000. LSS will have an interim Director in place by September 12th. A Permenant Director will be in place in about 90 days. The position will be under LSS. The El Centro City Manager has told the City Council that LSS is a highly experienced company in public library management, including opening new Libraries.
