El Centro Police recovered a U-Haul van that had been reported stolen.

An automated License Plate Reader alerted police to the van when it was spotted near 8th and Adams in El Centro. The van was then spotted on the Dogwood Road overpass at Interstate 8. Police were able to stop the van on eastbound Interstate 8. The driver and a passenger in the stolen vehicle were detained. One charged with Auto Theft and the other with Possession of Stolen Property. Both were cited and released. The van was returned to U-Haul.
