The National Weather Service has continued the Excessive Heat Warning through Friday night.
Temperatures should peak between 115 to 117 degrees Friday before cooling off a bit into the weekend. By Sunday there will be increasing moisture moving into the Imperial Valley with a chance for showers and Thunderstorms beginning Sunday and continuing through Tuesday.
With the elevated temperatures the Imperial Irrigation District has continued to ask customers to conserve energy so as to reduce strain on the power grid and help prevent rolling power cuts. The IID asks that consumers give their appliances the afternoon off and to adjust thermostats to 78 degrees or higher.
