(Local Student accepts Fellowship)....Mariano Peinado accepted the Fellowship.

California State University San Bernardino recently selected the students that will participate in the next cohort of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. One of the four students selected was Mariano Peinado, a 2019 graduate of Southwest High School and a current undergraduate student at CSUSB. Peinado is majoring in History and minoring in music. His research project will be focused on the late California Supreme Court Justice Cruz Reynoso. Judge Reynoso was the first Chicano/Latino Justice on the California Supreme Court and started his legal career in El Centro. The Fellowship is a 2 year program that provides financial support, research mentorship and assistance with graduate school applications.
