(Two More Rescues reported in the Jacumba Wilderness Region)....Eight individuals were rescued in two separate incidents.

They were reported last week. In the first incident a a woman and her two children were rescued. El Centro Sector Border Patrol received a call reporting lost individuals in the area near Ocotillo. Using GPS coordinates obtained from the phone call, a 19 year old female from El Salvador and her two children were located. A wellness Check was conducted and it was determined they were not in any need of medical attention. It was determined the woman and her children had crossed into the US illegally. They were taken into custody to be processed and returned to the country of origin. The second incident occurred after patrolling agent discovered five individual who had crossed into the US illegally and were lost in the wilderness region. A wellness check determined they were all dehydrated and in need of medical assistance. Emergency medical services were called in. All five were Mexican Nationals, between the ages of 19 and 51. They were transported to a hospital for treatment. Once they were released from the hospital they were processed for deportation. Since October, El Centro Sector Border Patrol Agents have rescued 210 individuals who were lost, in distress or abandoned by smugglers.
