(Memorial Day Monday)...A day to remember, recognize and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Ceremonies were held across the nation, and Imperial County was no exception. Several ceremonies were held at cemeteries and veterans monuements in several places. Flags were placed at graves in the Terrace Park Cemetery over the weekend. The Baja Runners were up early at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico, decorating graves with american flags. A traditional breakfast was also part of their events. The 10th annual Memorial Day walk from Westmorland to Brawley was held. Ceremonies were held at the Elks Lodge in Brawley. American Legion Post 9305 hosted ceremonies at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro and later at the Veterans Monuement in Bucklin Park.
