The award was presented at the 41st American Jail Association Conference and Expo in Long Beach May 21-25. At the event Chavarin  received the 2022 American Jail Association Correctional Supervisor of the Year award. The award was for Chavarin's contributions to the field of corrections and his commitment to the community.
