(Memorial Day Weekend is coming up)...California Motorists are being asked to be aware.

The California Highway Patrol goes into their Maximum Enforcement Program ot 6:00 pm Friday. The MEP continues until 11:59 pm Monday May 30th. The Maximum Enforcement Program is the CHP's Holiday patrol program when as many officers as possible are assigned to patrol the roadways. The Highway Patrol says motorists should be aware the CHP primary focus this Memorial Day Weekend will be seatbelt safety. Age appropriate Child Safety seats will also be a concern. The CHP will also focus on Distracted Drivers, speeders and anyone suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. MEP's are also mostly zero tolerance.
