They arrived at the scene in the 8oo block of East 24th Place and found light smoke coming from the home. They were told two aduklts and two dogs had successfully evacuated the duplex and the fire was in the laundery room. The firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and then confirmed it had not spread to the attic or any where else in the home. They determined the fire originated from a ventilation fan in the laundry room, and burning material had dropped down, into an open washing machine. The Red Cross was assisting the resident in deciding whether to reoccupy the Duplex or not.
