(Details released on Big Rig incident)....It occured on Tuesday on Interstate 8.

The incident forced the closure of the eastbound lanes on the Mountain Springs Grade for several hours. The rig was heading east on the Interstate hauling a trailer loaded with wood. According to the California Highway Patrol, the rig, driven by 39 year old Edgar Lopez Beltran from Mexicali, Drifted across the number one lane and collide with the guard-rail. The rig continued out of control and over-turned. The trialer dumped the load of wood onto the eastbound lanes of the Interstate. The lanes were closed for about five hours until the dumped load could be clean-up. The traffic was diverted from the Interstate Mountain Springs Road on-ramp. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
