(COVID 19 update).....Updated COVID numbers were released Tuesday morning.

The numbers are proviuded by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County have increased. They are now at 81. That is up from the 70 cases reported last week. Deaths attributed to the virus have gone up, slightly, to 906, as compared to 905 reported a week ago. The number of variants of concern in Imperial County have also incrrased. The Omicron Variant cases since December 2021 are now at 954. The Delta Variant Cases since 2020 are now at 1,213. There have been 4 cases of the Omicron sub-variant BA.2 recorded in Imperial County. According to the State Tier Metrics for Imperial County, the Positivity rate, 7 day average is now at 7.2%. The new cases per day per 100,000 population are now at 4. The vaccination rate for Imperial County is now at 95%.
