The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Monday afternoon.

The accident was reported at about 4:23 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue B and Patricia Lane. The initial investigation shows that a motorcycle was travelling northbound on Avenue B and an SUV was westbound on Patricia Lane. The SUV driver failed to yield to the motorcycle and the two vehicles collided. The motorcycle rider, a 17-year-old male, died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
