A Monday morning traffic accident claimed two lives.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Ford was southbound on State Route 111 south of Sargo Road when the vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned. Two people in the vehicle were ejected and suffered fatal injuries. One victim is a 57-year-old man from Niland while the second victim is a woman from Niland. Identities of the victims have not been released. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
