(Funding for Beautification projects).....Cal Trans has been allotted $312 million for 126 projects.

Two of those projects are in Imperial County. $1.9 million will be used for the Calexico International Gateway Project. That project includes installing a gateway monument, and beautify the areas at the Highway 7 connection with Nina Lee Rioad near the US/Mexico Border with decorative inert material like boulders and gravel. $3.8 million will fund the Imperial County Community Improvements Project. That poroject includes beautifying and improving locations by installing bus stop shelters in Holtville, Brawley and Calipatria, and enhancing roadway medians and pedestrian safety improvements in El Centro along Highway 86. Funds will also be used to clean-up trash along the roadways in the Cal Trans system.
