El Centro Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Friday morning.

Police responded to Eucalyptus Street shortly before 1:00 a.m. Initial reports were that a car was burning. Police were able to determine that a disturbance had occurred, and they found blood at the scene. Local hospitals were contacted to see anyone had come in for a stab wound and El Centro Regional Medical Center indicated that a woman had just come into the Emergency Department. The victim has apparently been dropped off at the hospital. Officers were talking to possible witnesses and determined that a pickup truck was seen leaving the area of the crime. Few other details have been released as the investigation continues.
