Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia has been tabbed to chair the California Assembly Committee on Utilities and Energy.

The primary jurisdictions of the Committee are the California Energy Commision, California Independent System Operator ( CAISO ); California Public Utilities Commission ( CPUC ); CPUC oversight and reform; electric generation including biomass, coal, geothermal, hydroelectric, natural gas, nuclear, renewables, solar, and wind; as well as other CPUC regulated areas. Prior to being named Chair of the Utilities and Energy Committee Garcia served as chair of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife.
