(First babies of 2022)....There was a boy and there was a girl.

Both were born on New Year's Day. The first baby for the New Year in Imperial County was born at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley. Baby Omar came into the world at 9:19 Saturday morning. The healthy baby boy was born to Nereyda Lopez Mancillas of San Diego. Later in the day, at 12:31 in the afternoon to be exact, baby Annette made her entrance into the world. She was the first baby of the year delivered at El Centro Regional Medical Center. The healthy baby girl was born to Yuridia Matas and Jose de Jesus Balderrama Duran. The babies were welcomed as the first babies of the year and presented gift baskets from their respective hospitals.
