According to the new numbers, active cases of the virus have decreased to 573, as compared to 626 previously reported. Deaths attributed to the virus are up to 788, an increase of 1 from the previous report. There are currently 66 COVID positive patients hospitalized in Imperial County. 24 of them are in Intensive care. The State Metrics for the Imperial County indicate the positive rate, 7 day average is at 13%. The new cases per day per 100,000 population is at 32.60. Cases of the Delta Variant, the variant of concern in Imperial County, are at 897. That number includes all cases of the variant since it was first encountered in the County in December 2020. There have been no cases of the Omicron variant reported in Imperial County. The number of vaccine doses administered in the county are now at nearly 330,000.
