(The name officially released by the Sheriff's Office)...32 year old Jordan Schmidt of Brawley was found deceased Wednesday morning.

He had been shot multiple times. A passing motorist had discovered the victim at around 3:50 Wednesday morning, near the Highway 78 and Hovely Road intersection. Brawey Police were notified. They informed the County Sheriff's office at 4:00 that morning. In the mean time, an ambulance had responded to the scene and confirmed the subject was deceased. Officials say an autopsy will be performed to try and determine an exact cause of death. Deputy Chief Benavidez said Thursday morning, no suspect information could be released at this time. He said the investigation was continuing, and if anyone has any information surrounding the incident to call the Sheriff's investigation Unit.
