(Two Fires in the county)...There was a river-bottom fire.

It was reported near Rio Bend. Not much information was made available. A three alarm fire was reported at Hot Mineral Spa, just north/east of Bombay Beach. At last report, the fire had burned over 160 acres of vegetation. Officials say the fire was concentrated in a wash that runs north and south. Officials say winds were pushing the fire away from a trailer park, and no evacuations were needed. Fire crews took a defensive approach and were allowing the fire to move south, away from structures. Two County stations responded to the fire. Also on scene were fire crews from Brawley, El Centro, Holtville, Calipatria and Westmorland. County Sheriff's also responded. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
