(Border Patrol agents arrest US citizen)....It happened over the weekend.

The 41 year old drove a dark gray 2005 Ford up to the Highway 86 checkpoi9nt. The vehicle was referred to the secondary inspection area. A Border Patrol Canine Detection Team alerted to the vehicle. Agents searched the vehicle and found a backpack on the rear seat. Inside the backpack agents found multiple identification cards with the driver's name, a glass pipe commonly used for marijuana, and a black 9 mm handgun with no serial number, loaded with a magazine containing six rounds and an additional five rounds of .223 ammunition. The driver admitted ownership of the backpack, but not the weapon. The driver, firearm and contraband were turned over to the Imperial County Sheriff's office
