(Border Patrol arrests two)....It happened last week.
A vehicle entered the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 111. Agents pulled the vehicle over for a more detailed search. A Border Patrol Canine Detection Team alerted to the Driver's side window of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle's interior resulted in the discovery of a clear plastic bag containing about 1,000 Fentanyl pills, hidden behind the air conditioning vents. The driver and the passenger, both 33 year old males, were taken into custody. The bag of blue pills weighed .437 pounds and had an estimated value of around $6,500. Further inspection of the passenger revealed he had an extensive criminal history, with an active warrant out of Riverside County. The passanger was turned over to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. The driver, the vehicle and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
