The National Weather Service ( NWS ) has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Imperial and Yuma Counties.

According to the NWS , showers and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding are expected from late Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. Rain rates of 1 - 2 inches per hour will likely lead to rapid runoff into washes and poor drainage areas. All of Imperial County and most of Yuma County are included in the affected area. Drying conditions are expected beginning Thursday. Temperatures will lower starting Tuesday with below normal readings expected by the end of the week.
