(President Biden had suspended a Trump policy)....That policy was to force asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while they went through the process.
President Joe Biden, on his first day in office, suspended that policy. The courts are now saying he could not do that, and may have broken the law.A Federal appellate court upheld a court decision reversing Biden's order. This week The Supreme Court upheld the appellate court decision, saying the Biden Administration likely violated federal law in trying to end the Trump-era program that forces people to wait in Mexico while seeking asylum in the United States. Three liberal Justices were in dissent when the high court refused to block the lower courts ruling ordering the administration to reinstate the Remain In Mexico Program. The program re-implementation will be delayed while the Supreme Court considers the administration's appeal of their decision.
