All California teachers , custodial staff , bus drivers and others will be required to show proof of vaccination or undergo weekly testing.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced that mandate on Wednesday and said that it takes effect Thursday , August 12 , 2021 and schools must be in full compliance by October 15 , 2021. Last week the governor mandated vaccine requirements for all healthcare workers in the state. Meanwhile , the California Correctional Peace Officers Association announced to members that they would use all the tool at it's disposal  to fight recent attempts to mandate vaccinations at state prisons.
