(A Major Meth Seizure recently)...It happened at the Otay Mesa Commercial Port.

It was a record seizure for methamphetamine. It was discovered in the trailer of a big rig carrying a load of plastic household items. The narcotics were found mixed with the plastic items. Customs and Border Protection Officers found 414 packages consisting of methamphetamine and fentanyl. The meth weighed 5,500 pounds. The Fentanyl  powder weighed 127 pounds. A combined weight of 2.8 tons and valued at $12.9 million. The driver of the rig, a 53 year old Mexican  National ,  was arrested and charged with narcotics smuggling. The CBP seized the tractor/trailer rig and the narcotics.
