(CHP updates collision info.)...The collision was reported Tuesday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol has released their preliminary report. The CHP was notified of the collision at 3:35 Tuesday afternoon. There was a report of two vehicles in the Central Main Canal on Dogwood Road at Willoughby. The Highway Patrol found a Red Jeep Compass and a White Ford F-2250 submerged in the canal. Both vehicles had collision damage. The Highway Patrol says the F-250 was apparently driving northbound on Dogwood. The Jeep was traveling east on Willoughby. For undetermined reasons, the Jeep drove into the path of the Ford. Both drivers were found to be wearing their seatbelts. One driver suffered minor injuries while the other driver suffered fatal injuries. The Highway Patrol says they are continuing to investigate the collision.
