Unemployment numbers are released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Elmployment Development Department. According to the latest numbers, unemployment in Imperial County was at 17.5%. That is up from a revised 16.1% in May, and below the year ago estimate of 26.5%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 8% for the state and 6.1 percent for the nation during the same period. The June report indicates there were 11,900 eligible workers unemployed out of a Labor Force of 68,100 in Imperial County.
