On Saturday morning El Centro Firefighters battled a third and fourth multi-alarm fires in less than a week.

At 3:30 a.m. , multiple callers reported a fire at the Charles Lopez Imperial Valley Blind Center at 473 Park Avenue. ECFD arrived on the scene with 3 engine companies and 11 firefighters. The fire had spread to the attic of the building and a second alarm went out just minutes later. Mutual aid was provided by Imperial County Fire and the Cities of Holtville , Calexico and Imperial. 
At 4:31 a.m. Saturday there were reports of a second structure fire in the 700 block of Broadway in El Centro. An abandoned house that had been torched several times recently was burning again and the windy conditions had spread the fire to the attic of a neighboring office building. ECFD reassigned  resources from the Park Avenue Fire and received additional aid from the City of Brawley and Imperial County Fire. A total of 28 firefighters battled the blaze. The abandoned house was totally destroyed and the office building sustained extensive damage. El Centro Fire Department Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fires and have asked that anyone with information contact the department.

On Wednesday afternoon 90 storage units at the A-American Storage facility on North Imperial Avenue in El Centro were destroyed by a three-alarm fire and early Friday morning the Carl’s Jr. Restaurant at 4th and the freeway in El Centro was totally gutted by fire. The cause of these fires remain under investigation.
