A self-storage facility in El Centro burned.

The fire at the Mini-Storage facility on North Imperial Avenue was reported shortly before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Fire fighters from the El Centro Fire Department responded and immediately requested mutual aid for additional manpower and equipment. Before they were done a fourth alarm had been sent with firefighters and equipment from Imperial County Fire , the Cities of Imperial , Holtville , Calipatria , Brawley , Westmorland and Calexico , NAF-El Centro and the Centinela and Calipatria State Prisons. 
Firefighters were hampered by gusty winds and temperatures over 100 degrees. The extent of damage has not been determined and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
